Eagle Landing Estate

Eagle Landing is a spectacular estate property located in central Kansas not far from the banks of the Smoky River. The estate is comprised of a 9,700 square feet luxury home on 58 acres. The home is a beautiful brick two story home with a fully finished basement located on the end of a concrete looped driveway with paved highway access. The 58 acres has a fully manicured entry way and a unique entry statue of an eagle in a landing pose. The property is completely fenced and includes a separately fenced horse pasture.

LOCATION

The property is located just 3 miles south of Abilene on paved State Highway K-15. Abilene provides a small town feel, great schools, a quaint shopping district and dinner theatre to name a few of the highlights. Abilene is located between Salina and Manhattan in central Kansas and 80 miles north of Wichita, KS. The area has lots of natural beauty with rolling hills, wooded draws that lead into the Smokey River Valley. The address is 1872 Highway 15, Abilene, KS 67410.

IMPROVEMENTS

This estate property is ideal for a large family and/or extended family. Included within the home are eight bedrooms, including a main floor master, three upstairs bedrooms, three bedrooms upstairs with separate access and a basement bedroom. There are nine full bathrooms and three half bathrooms. The main floor is well appointed with crystal chandeliers in the entryway and dining room. Maple hardwood accents the formal living room, dining room, family room and kitchen. The home is set up for entertaining large groups with a large recreation room, large home theatre and kitchen in the basement that lead to a walkout patio. There are three garages; two four car garages, one of which leads out to a large outdoor entertainment area and a RV Bus garage for a full size bus.

There is plenty of room on the 58 acres to add other buildings if desired. The acreage is divided into surveyed lots, so that one could sell off a building lot.

AREA

The name Abilene stems from the Bible in the chapter of Luke and means “city of the plains”. Abilene is known today as one of the "biggest little cities" in the Midwest. Abilene is a city of prosperous businesses, fine homes, good schools, churches and excellent recreational facilities. Abilene is the seat of Dickinson County, and hub of one of the richest and most diversified agricultural areas in Kansas. The small town feel of Abilene and great school system make this property a great place to raise a family.

Abilene is rich in history with its roots stemming to the western terminus of the Kansas Pacific railroad and the northern end of the Chisholm Trail where Texas longhorn herds were driven in the late 1800’s to catch the rail to the eastern markets. Also, noteworthy were early day marshals, Tom Smith and Wild Bill Hickok. Abilene is the boyhood home of our 34th President, Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Abilene and central Kansas are rich in recreational and cultural opportunities ranging from boating and four wheeling to hunting and fishing to touring historic churches and mansions. There are many cultural events and festivals held throughout the year in the area including the Great Plains Theatre Festival housed at the Tietjens Center for Performing Arts, a 100-year-old stone church building, which offers live theatre from March through December. Abilene serves as home for the National Greyhound Association and Greyhound Hall of Fame, Museum of Independent Telephony, Kansas Auto Racing Museum and Eisenhower Center to name just a few attractions. Kansas has a great university system comprised of small colleges as well as KSU at Manhattan and KU at Lawrence. Topeka, the state capital is not far away and Kansas City, just beyond Topeka, offers all the big city opportunities one could ask for.
