THE HISTORIC PALO BLANCO CREEK RANCH

Located in north eastern New Mexico is a choice diversified cattle ranch with loads of history, a variety of wild life and 5500 acres of seclusion. A resident elk herd, wild turkey, white-tail deer, a few black bear and trophy antelope call this ranch home. Cedar breaks, lush blue gramma grass and scattered water create excellent habitat and grass for 400 to 500 yearlings in the summer. Petroglyphs along the rock bluffs, arrowheads, miniature antique corrals made of flat rock, native stone houses and history of the southern branch of the famous Old Santa Fe Trail nearby, speak volumes about a by-gone era. An apple orchard at the headquarters completely surrounded by cotton wood and pinon trees, adjacent to the creek bottom, shows an abundance of elk and wild turkey droppings. Livestock water is provided by wells with windmills, natural water tanks, intermittent creeks and springs. Old native rock home circa 1909 near orchard of same vintage is in great protected area surrounded by planted trees. Other improvements are usable but not fancy. Palo Blanco creek is a small tributary of the Canadian River which goes thru the Panhandle of Texas.
