Education, Touring and Networking Event in Garden City Kansas Supported by Mason & Morse Ranch Company
 
Bart Miller, Managing Broker and Scot Oliver, Broker Associate, of Mason & Morse Ranch Company joined the Kansas Realtor Land Institute chapter on August 2nd, 2018 in Garden City Kansas to network with our Kansas land brokerage peers and bring together the Colorado RLI chapter and the Kansas RLI chapter in a joint educational and networking event.  
 
"These events are important networking opportunities with our land brokerage peers and also help us understand important business operations and products that our clients use everyday.." said Scot Oliver, Mason & Morse Ranch Company Broker Associate.  "Staying up to date on local events is part of our "Live it to know it" experience."

Bart Miller and Scot Oliver toured the following facilities and engaged in discusions with owners, management and our land broker peers during the two day event.
 
Conestoga Energy Partners – The story of Conestoga Energy isn’t just about ethanol. It’s about making the most of our resources through the production low-carbon renewable energy. Bonanza Bioenergy, LLC begins operation in Garden City in 2007. The ethanol plant has a production capability of 55 million gallons per year. In 2013, Bonanza Bioenergy begins using Syngenta Enogen® corn, the first grain bioengineered specifically for the ethanol industry. Arkalon Ethanol and Bonanza Bioenergy plants merge in 2014; and Bonanza Bioenergy begin corn oil extraction. 
 
American Implement, John Deere – John Deere was helping farmers collect yield date from combines in the early 1990s. A major break through in Precision Ag technology was with guidance systems in the early 2000s. The advances in technology relative to farming, data collection and machinery are incredible, enabling better farm management decisions. 
 
Kansas Dept. of Agriculture - The Division of Water Resources Garden City Field Office area covers 17 counties located in the Western and Southwestern portion of Kansas and administers 37 percent of the water rights in the state. Under the supervision Mike Meyer, Water Commissioner, the Field Office staff act as agents of the Chief Engineer to supervise the use of water in accordance with federal and state laws, including federal court decrees, the Kansas Water Appropriation Act, the Groundwater Management District Act, and rules and regulations about water administration.
