The ranch is well watered with nine wells, five solar wells, 14 storage tanks, and 12 dirt tanks. The ranch has two traps and the rest of the ranch is in one pasture and is estimated to carry approximately 600 cows.
The ranch has been operating with a year around calving season. In this spring and fall the ranch is gathered into traps around the headquarters where large calves are weaned, young calves are banded, and cows and bulls are worked and culled. The use of a helicopter is used and the gather takes one day.
WILDLIFE & RECREATION
The population of wildlife is healthy and in part includes dove, quail, Mule deer, Coues deer and javelina.
The ranch is located in hunting unit 36A which is well known for its large Coues deer and desert Mule deer. Hunts for Coues deer begin in October and Mule Deer begin in November. 90% plus draw odds for October and November Coues hunts and 17% for December tags and 30-50% for Mule deer. Much of the deeded land is located in the prime area for Coues deer.
Elevation and location makes this ranch a great destination for other outdoor activities such as bird watching, ATV recreation, horseback riding, and hiking.
