JKB Ranch is located in the northern and upper end of the San Luis Valley, approximately three hours southwest of Denver, 20 miles south of Poncha Springs and two miles west of US Highway 285 on County Road NN 56. A one mile BLM ‘end of the road’ access creates the ultimate in privacy.

A stunning 7,000 square foot log lodge sits along Peterson Creek next to a large aspen grove. The main floor is 4,240 square feet consisting of an open cathedral great room highlighted with open log beams and a large rock fireplace, commercial kitchen and six double occupancy guest rooms with two shared bathrooms. The second floor consists of three double occupancy bedrooms and three single bedrooms again sharing two bathrooms. There is a third floor office-conference room. The lodge has wrap-around three-sided deck consisting of 2,786 square feet.

A two-bedroom residence sits above two-car garage. The second residence is a two-bedroom home over the top of an open room, which presently houses a professional fitness center/recreational center.

There are five one-room sleeping cabins each with two bunk beds & a wood burning stove for heat, a large two story horse barn, a large four bay equipment/garage/shop, a quaint chapel overlooking the property and numerous storage facilities.

Importantly, the property has a commercial well. It also has two domestic wells with a fourth well that is permitted but not yet drilled.

The property is ideally suited for guest lodging and operations including a hunting lodge with its location within the public land boundaries and proximity to endless hunting and fishing opportunities. The property would also work well as the guest operations center for a variety of seasonal activities including weddings, reunions, recreation getaways as well as corporate retreats and conferences. It is still ideally suited for its historical use as a retreat for leadership or religious/spiritual study. The property operated in the summer with staff and guest count around 30 persons. Full double occupancy pillow count is 50 spaces. The operation kept 18 – 20 horses onsite with ample horse pasture and live water.

In addition to indoor class sessions, the property offers a certified ROPES course set in a large aspen grove, target range, skeet range, paintball range, equestrian activities, Sportscourt® and a variety of outdoor games.

The property is surrounded by BLM leading into the Rio Grande National Forest for unlimited hunting, hiking, backpacking and rock-climbing access.

The lodge and two residences are complete with plumbing and heating allowing summer or winter operation. The cabins have a wood-burning stove for heat. Full bathroom facilities are 100 feet away in the fitness center. Winter activities could include snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and other winter activities.

The property would serve many purposes such as a hunting and recreation lodge for private or public use, professional sports camp, wellness retreat, religious or youth camp, corporate or government business retreat center or equestrian operation or training center.
