The farm consists of 4,565 total acres with 2,500 acres under pivot irrigation. 14 wells, pumping an average of 1,400 g.p.m. furnish water to 21 center pivots. The wells are supplemented with 3,771 shares of ditch water from the Sanchez Ditch and Reservoir Company. An extensive network of underground pipelines insure well or surface water to each pivot and 60 flood irrigated acres. The farm has the potential to place an additional 240 acres under pivot. It is important to note that the wells are pumping from a different aquifer than the majority of the San Luis Valley.

IMPROVEMENTS

Improvements include four homes, two equipment storage buildings, shop, scales, and storage for 11,000 tons of hay. Hay sales for 2011 totaled $3,155,450.00 with an additional $193,655.00 income from grain production, resulting in a net income of $2,600,000.00.
